The settings

1
Game and hideout

Pick Path of Exile 1 or 2 and the hideout you live in. The file only imports into that same hideout type.

2
Art size

How big the picture is on your hideout floor. Bigger art shows more detail but needs more decorations. 100 units suits most images.

3
Decoration limit

The most decorations the art may use. Path of Exile allows 750 per hideout so at 750 the file always imports in full. Slide it fully right for no limit.

4
Art position

Where the art sits in your hideout. It starts at the centre and the reset button puts it back.

5
More options

Change the number of colours, keep or clear existing objects, use shop decorations or build the outline only so you can fill the colours yourself.

What happens when a limit is set

  1. 1
The outline and features like eyes are placed first so the shape stays clear.
  2. 2
The colours fill in with the decorations that are left.
  3. 3
If the colours need a lot of pieces a slimmer outline is used to save room for them.

Art not filling well?

Lower the art size. A smaller picture needs fewer decorations so the same limit covers it completely. Detailed coloured images usually look best between 75 and 100 units. Simple logos and line drawings can go bigger.

Previews are free. Try a few sizes to find the look you like.
FAQ

Everything about PoE hideout art

What is PoE hideout art?

PoE hideout art is a picture built inside your Path of Exile hideout out of real in-game decorations, arranged so that from the game camera they form a character, a logo or any image you like. The POE Hideout Art Generator builds it for you from a single image and gives you a .hideout file to import.

How do I turn an image into Path of Exile hideout art?

Open the generator, choose Path of Exile 1 or 2 and your hideout, upload a PNG, JPG or WEBP image and press Try it free. In seconds you get an in-game preview made from real decorations. Download the .hideout file and import it in game from Edit Hideout, then Import.

Which games and hideouts are supported?

Both Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2, across 184 hideouts. For each game the generator only uses decorations that exist in that game, placed at their real in-game size and rotation.

How many decorations does a hideout artwork use?

Every artwork is automatically sized to fit Path of Exile's limit of 750 decorations per hideout, so it imports completely. The result page shows the exact count and every decoration used.

What kind of images make the best hideout art?

Characters with bold outlines, anime portraits, Pokémon, game logos, guild emblems, streamer logos and memes all convert beautifully. One clear subject on a plain or transparent background gives the cleanest result.

Can I make anime, Pokémon, guild logo or streamer art?

Yes. Anything you can put in an image works: anime characters, Pokémon, Mario, Goku, your guild emblem, your Twitch or YouTube logo, or your own drawing. See the art guides on the blog for real examples.

How do I import the .hideout file into my hideout?

Go to your hideout, open Edit Hideout, choose Import and select the file. Import it into the same hideout type you picked on the website, and unlock the decorations listed on the result page for the full artwork.

How much does it cost?

Your first preview is free and needs no account. Downloading the .hideout file uses one download from your plan, billed monthly or yearly; see the plans page for current prices.
